Tiles are the defining features of this home. We sourced them from Spain, Morocco, Portugal, and Belgium. What an authentic look they created! The pool sits in the middle of the interior courtyard and is a spectacular work of art!
The clients are fun and eclectic and envisioned a unique Mediterranean style home close to the center of town. The property they bought originally had a very nondescript house which was razed, and the nearly three year long project began.
Almost all of the furniture was bought at auction, each piece carefully curated. Nothing was too precious-just appropriate for the style of the home and above all, comfortable.
This is a house that will continue to “layer” with a backdrop that is ripe for collecting and adding with special objects found around the world. It has a very lived-in, personal feel.
Eric Velleca, the master ironworker from North Carolina, created all of the railings, outdoor lantern, and gates. Such special touches!
Thanks to all who made this jewel box come to life!
